This Flick In Brief
Very loosely covering the colorful life of classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce), Amadeus is more fiction than fact as director Milos Foreman spins a magnificent tale of art, genius, madness, and envy.
F Murray Abraham's Oscar-winning performance as Mozart's rival Antonio Salieri carries the picture from beginning to end, and Hulce's characterization of Mozart is as entertaining and maddening as can be expected of a musical prodigy.
Complete with powdered wigs, ballrooms, royalty, and the stiffness of Victorian Europe, Amadeus is a brilliant piece of moviemaking deserving of its 8 Acadamy Awards.
