This Flick In Brief
Before his Star Wars empire and big-budget films, and before his name became synonymous with 'special effects', director George Lucas was once actually mortal and human, and once made movies about mortals and humans. American Graffiti is vivid proof that the man was simply put on this earth to make movies.
Taking place in simpler times, American Graffiti covers one night in the life of the graduating class of 1962, as they freewheel their way around town and deal psychologically with knowing that they're headed into adulthood, and that their freewheeling days are most likely coming to an end. Complete with one of the best soundtracks of any film ever, highlighted by the fabled radio antics of Wolfman Jack, filled out with beautiful Thunderbirds, Bel-Airs, and even Edsels, American Graffiti is simply a marvelous piece of filmmaking from start to finish.
