This Flick In Brief

A loose portrayal of the infamous 'Wonderland Murders' that occurred in Los Angeles in 1981, with porn star John Holmes (Val Kilmer) as the pivotal character who witnessed it all.

Seedy, violent, and dispiriting, Wonderland isn't a pretty movie, but solid performances by Kilmer, Lisa Kudrow (Friends), and an unrecognizable Dylan McDermott (In The Line Of Fire, Hamburger Hill) carry the film through.

The film attempts to portray events from different perspectives, as if it's speculating on what exactly occurred leading up to the horrendous crime. Some viewers may find this constant jumping around of the timeline to be disconcerting and difficult to follow, but all in all Wonderland is well worth the time to watch.
